Television, movie and stage actress Madeleine Nicolas took timeout amid her hectic showbiz schedules to immerse into a productive two-day seminar-workshop on auditioning for film and TV.

Madeleine didn't mince words and harbor second thoughts on the idea of tryouts and go-sees for prospective roles onscreen and onstage despite her status, invaluable experiences and seniority in the biz. It is because Nicolas believes that life is a constant yet continuous learning.

It is a meticulous but eventually a meritorious process to fit into a particular role in reel life.

As an ordinary applicant, Mads (as she is often addressed by friends and family) went through the usual process.

She logged on to the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) FEST Film Lab application and identified her choice of entry--Auditioning for Film and TV under noted American casting director Nancy Bishop who was responsible for the European casting for "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" (2011), "Bourne Identity" (2002), "Hellboy" (2004), among other international big productions.

Mads laboriously filled each and every space of the information sheet up and submitted it online as well to FDCP selection committee.

Nicolas waited for, at least, two weeks to be advised if she was selected or not based on her credentials.

Having accomplished a fully answered form, Mads, after an excited wait, was one of the lucky and deserving applicants to the component.

She coordinated well with the respective staff of the film lab section and was advised of the requirements for the event.

It was on July 13 and 14, 2025 that the actress was scheduled to join her other fellow workshoppers.

Mads arrived early on time for the first day of the seminar which lasted until six in the evening.

The following day, she again fulfilled a professional calling for another whole education on auditioning for film and television.

Nicolas has added a new dimension into her aesthetics on landing or not getting a role after an audition, very realistically confronted by the versatile thespian.
