Laguna University (LU) has become the first local university in Southern Luzon to attain Level 3 accreditation for three of its academic programs and the first local university in the Philippines with the highest number of Level 3 accredited programs as announced by the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA).

The programs granted Level 3 accreditations include Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED), Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in English (BSED-English), and Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in Mathematics (BSED-Math).

The announcement was made by Dr. Raymundo Arcega, CESE, President and Executive Director of ALCUCOA, during the Presentation and Confirmation of Accreditation Results held at the LU Administration Building Conference Room at the Laguna Sports Complex last December.

The accreditations recognize the programs’ high-quality curriculum, competent faculty, and exemplary institutional practices, distinguishing Laguna University as a leader in teacher education.

In addition, the following programs were also recognized for meeting the ALCUCOA Standards: Level II, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship; and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Arts in Communication, and Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.
