Lopez LGU's cash aid brings hope to teachers, students

The local government of Lopez, Quezon distributed cash aid to teachers and non-teaching staff in observance of World Teachers' Day last October 5.

LOPEZ, Quezon- Teachers and non-teaching personnel of the Department of Education (DepEd) here received P2,500 from the local government here as part of incentives for World Teachers’ Day (WTD) last October 5.

This is in line with the local government’s commitment to faithfully support teachers for their dedication to delivering quality education.

"Ang cash incentive na ito ay bilang pasasalamat at pagpupugay sa lubhang mahalagang papel ng mga kaguruan sa paghubog ng isipan ng mga mag-aaral upang sila ay maging responsableng mamamayan," Lopez Mayor Rachel Ubana said.

The local government has also distributed financial assistance to 1,295 qualified students.

Students from the Philippine Normal University (PNU), the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), the Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU), and the Technological University of the Philippines each received P5,000.

Up to 166 students from masters, doctoral, board exam reviewers and students outside the town benefited from the educational cash support, as P1,328,000 was earmarked by the LGU for the program.
