Palo embraces digital storytelling.
The Municipality of Palo is taking its annual celebration to a whole new level, embracing the power of digital storytelling with its first-ever vlogging workshop.
Held on July 22-23, the workshop, spearheaded by Mayor Remedios “Matin” Petilla, aimed to equip interested residents with the skills to showcase the town's charm and heritage in a captivating way, leading up to the highly anticipated Palo Day celebration.
The two-day workshop, a collaborative effort between the local government unit (LGU) and local content creators, Joseph Pasalo of Sef TV and Reggie Ramasasa of I Wander TV, provided participants with a comprehensive introduction to vlogging.
From basic camera techniques and editing software to crafting compelling narratives and engaging with online audiences, the workshop covered all the essentials for creating high-quality video content.
The workshop participants, a diverse group of individuals with varying levels of experience, were eager to learn and contribute to the celebration.

A Friendly Competition
The workshop culminated in a video challenge, with participants tasked to create a video entry under the theme "Enchanting Palo."
The videos, due on July 31st, will showcase the town's unique sites, rich culture, and historical heritage.
A panel of judges will select the best entries, with cash prizes awarded to the top three winners: P10,000 for first place, P7,000 for second place, P5,000 for third place, and P1,000 for consolation prizes.
The vlogging workshop signifies a progressive step for the Municipality of Palo, embracing the digital age and empowering its residents to become active participants in promoting the town's rich heritage and cultural identity.
The upcoming Palo Day celebration promises to be a captivating showcase of the town's charm, with the winning videos serving as a testament to the creative talent and passion of its residents.
