As soon as she accepted her Best Actress trophy from the Gawad Urian of the prestigious Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino (MPP) at the awards night held at the Verdure Hall of the De La Salle University in Taft Avenue in Manila and press interviews, Charlie Dizon—who considers Laguna province as her roots—slipped through the school premises to prepare for another milestone--wedding with fellow actor Carlo Aquino.
Charlie was proclaimed Best Actress by MPP for her role as an exploited worker in the film "Third World Romance" for ABS-CBN's Black Sheep Productions.
Dizon, with her family in tow, went out from DSLU to prep up for her real-life wedding with her reel partner in "Third World Romance" Carlo Aquino.
The following day, Sunday, Charlie was in her fabulous wedding gown to walk down the aisle with Carlo.
It was a memorable matrimony celebrated in the quaint and romantic town of Silang, Cavite, a stone's throw from the equally idyllic Laguna Province.
Charlie and Carlo's love story dates back two years ago when they did "Third World Romance" together.
Prior to meeting each other on the set and other chance encounters in Star Magic, a talent management agency run by ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation, Aquino was in a relationship with Trina Cardaza with whom he has a kid.
In no time at all, Carlo had found new meanings and dimensions of love with Dizon.
At the 2024 Gawad Urian awarding, Aquino was conspicuously absent even if he was part of the Best Picture-nominated film.
It was obvious that he was also preparing for the grand occasion.
Among the major sponsors in the Dizon-Aquino nuptials were ABS-CBN bigwigs like Carlo Katigbak, Cory Vidanes, Charo Santos-Concio and colleagues Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr., Lani Mercado and Maricel Soriano, etc.
