The assistance given by foundations and private organizations in ensuring the health and well-being of residents of San Pedro City, Laguna is an “invaluable asset” in the local government unit’s drive to become “Una sa Laguna.”
Recently, one such organization, the Sun Han Volunteer Center of Korea, once again conducted its yearly medical mission for San Pedrenses.
From August 11 to 13, volunteer doctors and staff from Sun Han delivered free medical services to residents of Barangays Landayan, San Vicente (Laguerta) and San Antonio (Southville 3A).
“Kabilang po sa mga medical services na inihatid ng Sun Han Volunteer Center ay cosmetic surgery; ophthalmology; dermatology; rehabilitation medicine; ultrasonography; pediatric checkup; adult checkup; internal medicine; minor surgery; laboratory testing; at acupuncture,” the city government of San Pedro said in a message to OpinYon Laguna.

The medical mission also gave out free medicines and multivitamins to San Pedrense beneficiaries, the LGU added.
Data provided by the San Pedro City Public Affairs and Information Office (PAIO) showed that a total of 2,028 San Pedrenses availed of the free medical services provided by Sun Han – 585 in Barangay Landayan, 768 in Barangay San Vicente, and 675 in Barangay San Antonio.
The medical mission was part of a continuous partnership between the Sun Han Volunteer Center, with the city government of San Pedro, to provide much-needed medical assistance to San Pedrenses.
Since 2016, Sun Han has forged an agreement with the San Pedro city government in order to reach out to the city’s indigent patients through free medical services.
“Lubos na nagpapasalamat ang Pamahalaang Lungsod lalo na ang mga San Pedrense sa inisyatibong ito upang maibsan ang problema sa kalusugan,” the city government concluded.
