Mobile Legend athletes have banded together to defend Blacklist International captain Johnmar "OhMyV33nus" Villaluna, following “homophobic” comments posted against Villaluna on one of the ML:BB Professional League’s Facebook livestream videos.

ML: BB Professional League (MPL) personalities, Bren Esports, Tier One Entertainment, and many others in the community are defending Blacklist International captain Johnmar "OhMyV33nus" Villaluna against homophobic comments.

Blacklist International was the undefeated Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team this season up until their loss to the World Champions Bren Esports yesterday.

Homophobic comments took over the match’s livestream as well as the Bren’s celebratory post on Facebook.

Both teams have addressed the issue during Blacklist’s post-game conference and Bren’s warning that homophobic comments will be “automatically blocked.”

“We don’t need you here,” they said.

Even tournament shoutcasters have supported OhMyV33NUS calling out the fans leaving homophobic comments.

Neil “Midnight” De Guzman reminded the community to be “responsible and sensitive in what we say.”

"I get it, it’s a competition but these comments are just geared towards hatred and insensitivity. We, as a community, are as one during these times and during the amazing tournament season," he said.

Tier One, the producer of Blacklist, posted their support saying “esports knows no gender.”

Blacklist Agents, the name for the team’s supporters, have poured their support to their ‘QueenVee’, as they fondly call Villaluna who has said that he’ll continue using his platforms to spread awareness and be an inspiration.

“Let this be a healing galing movement not only limited to the LGBTQ+ community, but also to everyone,” he said.

Villaluna has repeatedly said before that he is unbothered by the homophobic comments and have told his supporters to avoid aggravating the issue by responding with kindness instead.

“Being unbothered doesn’t mean you’re not affected but having a strong mind and heart will keep you pushing forward,” he admitted not noticing the comments until much later in the evening.
