After completing a genre project in 2023 titled “In My Mother’s Skin” for the competitive and game-changing "It Project" of the Network of Asian Fantastic Films (NAFF) of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) in Bucheon City, South Korea, director Kenneth Dagatan is again chosen this year as among the few privileged world filmmakers to explore the capabilities his new film.
The NAFF Project Market Selection has just announced that Dagatan's "Molder" is one of 23 projects to be pitched to international investors, marketers and producers.
According to the BIFAN website and Facebook page of Jongsuk Thomas Nam, NAFF Managing Editor, Kenneth's film project will have the rare privilege to meet with genre film production, investment, and distribution officials from around the world.
“Molder” is a co-production among Philippines, Italy and Singapore with producers Bardley Liew, Stefano Centini and Huang Junxiang of Epicmedia Productions, Inc., Volos Films Italia and Dropkick, respectively.
According to Jongsuk Nam, this year’s NAFF Project Contest features 322 projects from 50 countries, the highest number in history.
A total of 37 feature film projects selected from 22 countries have been selected, including 23 projects for “It Project,” 5 projects for “Project Spotlight Indonesia,” 3 projects for “Focus: France,” 4 Nordic Genre Invasion projects and one project each for the “Sitges FanPitch,” “Blood Window” and “Cannes Fantastic 7.”
“A big thank you to all the directors and producers who participated. This year's selected films will spend 3 days 1:1 on and offline business meetings from 7/7 (Sun) to 7/9 (Tue) to meet with genre film production, investment, and distribution officials from around the world,” said Tommy Nam.
He added that the selected projects will have the opportunity to engage in 1:1 offline and online business meetings with genre film professionals from around the world, including production, investment, and distribution representatives.
