Former President Joseph ‘Erap’ Estrada’s condition has slightly improved according to his son Jinggoy, but remains under sedation.
He noted the doctors have discouraged them from using Ivermectin, an anti-parasitic drug not yet approved for use on humans, when they asked if it could be administered to their sick father
FORMER Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, the eldest son of ex- President Joseph "Erap" Estrada has expressed optimism that his father would survive the current health crisis that befell on him.
In an interview, Jinngoy confided that his father is still in ICU and on mechanical ventilation but in stable condition with normal vital signs.
He added his father's condition slightly improved since he was put on mechanical ventilation due to his pneumonia.
"Nag-improve naman po nang bahagya," Jinggoy said when asked about his father's condition albeit admitting that he remains sedated.
The elder Estrada, 83, was put on mechanical ventilation after his pneumonia worsened to help improve oxygen delivery as well as to prevent the tiring of his respiratory mechanism.
The former president was rushed to the hospital after he tested positive for Covid-19 that led to complications with pneumonia.
"Hindi naman siya lumalabas ng bahay, siguro 'yung pag-entertain ng mga bisita sa bahay ," he said in an earlier interview on Unang Hirit aired over GMA-7.
Jinggoy said he and his wife, Presentacion, also tested positive for COVID-19 and are currently on isolation although his last swab test result already came out negative.
