When composer-writer-cum-PR Ricky Rivera sent me a copy of the demo song “Oh, Panginoon Pangunahan Mo Ang Pagbabago,” I was excited to listen to it.
According to Ricky, he wrote the lyrics of the anti-corruption song with a heartfelt conviction of a moral society to lead the people, and particularly, the government so that our country will finally progress honestly and consistently.
The music that I heard was convincing that it mirrored the tumultuous and uncertain times but the words were reflective and soul-searching that could melt one’s heart.
The music, Ricky clarified, was lifted from e free music accompaniment from the internet.
I asked Rivera who was the singer that initially interpreted his composition, he said it was an Artificial Intelligence (AI) derivative.
“But I want a real, palpable singer,” he wished.
So, I pitched in the Amazing Diva Armie Zuniga and really worked hard to reach out to the Didith Reyes-sing-alike and look-alike singer.
Apparently, Ricky liked the idea and so I constantly communicated with Armie.
Zuniga would also memorize the lines and the timing of the music so that when she would record it, there wouldn’t be any problem.
Days went by until Rivera texted me that he had already a Gen Z interpreter of the song.
Would that mean that Armie wasn’t considered at all. “Okay pa rin (She’s still okay),” he assured.
But it seemed the Gen Z singer had already recorded the song.
True enough, the singer had cut the single.
Who would this chanteuse be?
She’s Janah Zaplan, a Star Records artist, according to Ricky.
I looked for Janah Zaplan on social media and there she was, a young girl who is a product of an aviation school.
In other words, Janah is a pilot.
An aviator-singer?
That would be something else.
Apart from that, Zaplan is a performer, a model.
Based on my research, she has just gone to Iloilo and Guimaras Island for an Expo Travel project.
But I would like to change her screen name to Janah Z to complement her Gen aura and vision.
Janah, according to Rivera, would be featured in the Trillion-Peso March in EDSA to impact the people’s objectives of transparency and accountability of the government against corruption.
The following day, Monday, the first day of December, Janah would face the entertainment press for the launch of the song at The Tribute Hotel in Scout Gandia in Kamuning, Quezon City.
At the presscon, Janah will perform her version of “Oh, Panginoon Pangunahan Mo Ang Pagbabago.”
What would the press say about her rendition?
Let’s wait and see.
Or more to it, I would prefer her screen name as Janah Z as a perfectly hip and youthful image to give life to a song that could eliminate corruption in government.
