“Fake news buhay si Amay (He’s alive),” exclaimed Aimee Torres, the original singer of the cult song “Pusong Bato.”
“According to dir Kaka,” she added referring to film director Jose “Kaka” Balagtas who texted the actress a few hours after the “news” circulated.
It was yesterday at the D’Banquet Bake Shop and Restaurant in Tagaytay City during celebration of the 76th birthday of Manny Torres, father of Aimee, came a news that action star and comic Amay Bisaya was dead.
In the table where Manny was seated, actors Jess Sanchez and Hannagene Villame, singer-comedian Francis K and Kaka Balagtas were wearing sad faces and telling everyone that Amay was dead.
Manny also mentioned Amay’s supposed passing in his acceptance speech. Aimee’s interview was also posted in Facebook.
They were already telling memories of Bisaya.
“Magkausap lang kami kagabi at ang sabi niya, pupunta nga raw siya sa birthday ni Daddy (We were still talking last night and he said he would come to the party,” recalled the singer.
“Tumatawag naman ako kay Tito—a term of endearment to an uncle or to an older man by affinity) Amay pagkatapos makarating sa amin ‘yong balita pero hindi siya sumasagot. Sabi ko, ano ba’to (I was even calling him after we received the news but he wasn’t replying. I told myself, what is this?),” she added.
At the moment, the lady Torres is getting in touch with Amay.
She is also willing to go on cam to air her side of the story.
