Love is lovelier the second time around for both actress Irene Celebre and singer Archie Perez de Tagle.
Irene and Archie were lovers the first time they laid their eyes on each other.
It was, indeed, love at first sight for Celebre and Perez de Tagle, the son of the late popular Queen of Philippine Kundiman (Tagalog love songs).
Irene and Archie met in Broadcast City in the late 70s.
It was the time the actress was doing a lot of shows while the singer was promoting his single for Vicor Recording Corporation.
During those times, Irene was already blooming as a lady and Archie was beginning to feel the love itch.
"Archie was my first love," said Celebre.
"Then we parted ways. He went to the US. He built a family and I also built a family. I raised my own kids, he raised his.
"Then he separated from his wife; I also parted ways with my relationship. So that's it," Irene chuckled while Archie smiled approvingly.
During Celebre's 67th birthday celebration at the ballroom of Astoria Hotel recently, Perez de Tagle offered her a hand, wore her, proposed marriage to her and sang to her delight.
There is no fixed date of wedding for the couple but one thing is sure, Archie will give her all his love.
