Get ready for the hip celebration of the 126th Independence Day on June 12, as local government units (LGUs) in Cavite province readies their musical concert as a gift to Filipinos.

The LGU of Kawit, Cavite headed by Mayor Angelo Emilio Aguinaldo, with Agimat party-list Congressman Jolo Revilla, will regal the audience with a contemporary sound of young generations of performers.

“Para iba (So that it would be different),” said Joel Macanaya, one of the founding members of the singing group The Rainmakers and honcho of JMJM Productions.

Billed “Kalayaan Music Festival,” the show to be uniquely held right in the Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite promises to stir the freedom loving spirit of the youth with rappers Flow G and Al James top billing the concert.

Expected to share their youthful music are bands Moonstars88, Imago and 6Cyclemind.

Through the lyrics and melodies of the musical numbers of these performers, the nationalistic fervor of Filipinos will once again be unleashed among residents of Kawit and its neighboring communities.

“Ganyan ang (That is the) concept,” explained Joel who also head the cast of The Rainmakers’ continuation of their 50th anniversary on May 25, 2024 at Pier 1 along Roces Avenue in Quezon City.

“Kalayaan Music Festival” is also a collaborative project of mostly Cavitenos like Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr., Cavite Governor Junvic Remulla, Kawit Vice Mayor Junbie Samala and Councilor Armie Aguinaldo.
