Members of Kilusan Mayo Uno (KMU) and Kilos Na Manggagawa shop for the list of food items that the Department of Trade and Industry computed at P488 at Nepa Q-Mart in Cubao today.

This is to validate the claim of DTI that a family of five depending on a minimum wage of P575 a day can survive on the mandated minimum wage. The result of their market price validation was P570 way above the DTI's estimate. This is because of uncontrolled food price increases/ The workers are now amplifying their call for sufficiency increases in wages all over the country to ease the impact of the economic crisis.
