At the lobby of the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World, entertainment writer JC Nigado noticed a woman who was smiling at him from the opposite side of the foyer.
When JC came closer to her, he recognized that she is the owner of a lotto outlet in Sampaloc, Manila.
The smart lady was all too proud that she was able to watch the "Imelda Papin Birthday Special."
"Sa may amin nakatira 'yan. Sa kanya 'yong lotto outlet do'n (She's a neighbor. The lotto outlet there is hers)," informed Nigado.
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) is the operator of lotto and the star of the concert, Imelda Papin, being one of its Directors, lotto distributors and dealers symbiotically, supported her.
From Aparri to Jolo, from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, lotto bettors and franchisers took time out to watch the show of Asia's Sentimental Songstress and they did enjoy it.
Among the crowd, there were many lotto dealers from Iloilo, Bacolod, Dumaguete, all key cities in the Western Visayas who were amazed by Imelda's performances especially when she sang her signature songs "Isang Linggong Pag-ibig," "Bakit Ikaw Pa?"Bakit?" etc.
JC, meanwhile, a native of Tacloban City in Leyte, was also part of the gjg not only as a spectator but as a member of the press.
