Hundreds of Tayabense took to the streets as they celebrated the traditional 'Hagisan ng Suman', the most-anticipated event during the feast of San Isidro Labrador in Tayabas City.
The activity was part of the festivities in Tayabas included in the annual Mayohan sa Tayabas Festival. The procession of the patron saint of farmers started at the Minor Basilica of Saint Micheal Archangel as devotees wound their way through the town and back to the basilica.
All throughout devotees carrying San Isidro Labrador would be the recipient of tossed rice cakes along the route. This was their tribute to their patron saint.
There are other barangays in Tayabas in which the feast of San Isidro Labrador is celebrated separately.
