Gov’t offices in Gumaca closed due to Covid-19

Several local departments of the Gumaca, Quezon municipal government were ordered close after employees tested positive for Covid-19.

GUMACA, Quezon- THE local government unit (LGU) of this town has closed some of its offices starting today (September 21) to pave the way for disinfection from Covid-19.

Affected departments the Municipal Assessor, Human Resource and Management Office, Incident Command Post/Contact Tracing Team, and the Rural Health Unit of the municipality.

According to local officials, the closure is in line with health and safety protocols laid down by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), after several employees of the Gumaca LGU tested positive for Covid-19.

Gumaca municipality has recorded 119 active cases of Covid-19 as of September 20.

Meanwhile, 594 recoveries and 40 fatalities have also been reported.

The Gumaca District Hospital has also temporarily stopped accepting patients as its Covid-19 wards are now at “full capacity.”
