Some P6.8-milion worth of shabu was found inside two pressure cooker sets that were abandoned in the FedEx Cargo Warehouse, International Cargo Terminal of NAIA.

A P6.8- million worth of shabu was discovered inside two pressure cooker sets through a package from Malaysia, the Bureau of Customs (BoC) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) said on Wednesday.

Officials of the BoC-NAIA said that the 1011 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride shipment was declared as "a multi-function pressure cooker."

The BoC-NAIA authorities added the package arrived in Manila last February 12 and was stored at the FedEx Cargo Warehouse, International Cargo Terminal in NAIA.

The bureau conducted an inventory of list of items including the package of pressure cooker that were abandoned or which owners were no longer interested to claim.

The BoC-NAIA later found that the pressure cookers contained the illegal stuff which prompted them to turn it over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

According to NAIA-PDEA head Gerald Javier, the package was consigned to a certain Mira Castro of Sitio Old Bosoboso, Barangay San Jose in Antipolo City.
