Gawad Buhay, the highest award given to outstanding stage performances by member companies of Philstage, gave out its choices from an independent jury last night at the PETA Theater Center in Quezon City.
Toffer Fabregas and Meann Espinosa emceed the awards rites.
Black Box Productions’ “Dekada ‘70” and Tanghalang Pilipino’s “Anak Datu” garnered the most number of awards while TV, stage and movie singer-actor Gian Magdangal won Best Male Lead Performance in a Musical for “Carousel” by Repertory Philippines and Stella Cañete-Mendoza took home the Best Female Lead Performance in a Musical for “Dekada ‘70” by Black Box Productions.
