GCash and Grab PH have inked a partnership that will eliminate transfer fees across services.

Commuters and consumers of Grab delivery services can now have hassle-free and transfer fee-free payment with the partnership between the two companies.

This was announced on January 26 by Gcash which said its online payment services can be used starting February as the preferred cashless payment for GrabCar, GrabFood, GrabMart, GrabExpress and other Grab services on their smartphones.

“With this partnership, we once again realize our commitment to make the lives of Filipinos better each day by delivering a more convenient, secure, and cost-efficient way to pay for their rides and food and grocery deliveries," said GCash president and CEO Martha Sazon to ABS-CBN News.

"We look forward to this partnership and we will continuously innovate and build more partnerships that will improve the lives of the Filipinos," she added.

Prior to this move Grab users were already able to transfer money from their GCash wallet to their GrabPay wallet, and vice-versa in a safe and secure way but with a transfer fee of P50.

Aside from getting away from transfer fees, Grab customers will also be able to avail GCash exclusive deals, and get special treats when they pay for their transactions using GCash.

“We look forward to collaborating with like-minded partners such as GCash on this agenda, and we are optimistic that through this partnership, we can improve the lives and livelihoods of many of our kababayans, while building a cashless, digital-first economy for all Filipinos,” said Country Head of Grab Philippines Grace Vera Cruz in an interview reported by the Inquirer.

Aside from GCash president and CEO, and Country Head of Grab PH, GCash Chief Commercial Officer Oscar A. Reyes Jr., and GrabFin Philippines President Martha Elaine A. Borja were also present in the companies’ partnership launch.
