Summer is officially around in the Philippines. But before you hit the beach and flaunt that body, make sure you have prepared for the excessive heat coming your way.
For a start the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) is already expecting a 36-degree Fahrenheit heat index in Tanay, Rizal, on April 28. This falls under the extreme caution category which can cause heat cramps and exhaustion that can also lead to stroke.
Thus, El Nino was the focus of a recent collaborative discussion between National Irrigation Administration-CALABARZON (NIA-CALABARZON) and Department of Agriculture RFO 4-A (DA RFO 4-A) that centered on possible impacts on the agricultural production and farm and fisheries clustering and consolidation in the region.
