Beauty queen-actress, Miss Photogenic at the 1975 Mutya ng Pilipinas and original "Temptation Island" cast member Azenith Briones—otherwise known as Pride of San Pablo City—is indeed your jet setting local and international tourist.
From Cambodia to Vietnam where she had spent shopping and sightseeing spree before that infamous "kidnapping" setup two years ago to Hong Kong where she was feted with a post-birthday bash by her children last year right after her rehab enrollment purportedly arranged by them that eventually "...ends well," Azenith is again on a touring path.
Briones had her visits to Roxas City in Capiz recently with bosom buddy, fashion designer Willy Chu.
"We visited a friend whom I haven't seen for a long time," said Zenith.
When she came back from Roxas, Briones had to meet up with her fellow beauty queens at the Manila Pen.
"Matagal na kaming hindi nagkikita-kita ng mga kaibigan kong beauty queen kaya excited ako (We haven't seen each for the longest time so I anticipated our reunion," quipped.
1982 Binibining Pilipinas-Universe Maria Isabel Lopez has just come back from the US (where lives with husband, lawyer Jonathan Melrod) to witness the wedding of her only daughter Mara Lopez in Palawan and went to do a cameo performance in GMA Network's "Widows War"; Binibining Pilipinas finalist Maria Corazon Esguerra Lozada who has been locally involved in business and 1979 Miss International Melanie Marquez gathered around with Azenith in the company of Willy and controversial fashion designer Boyet Fajardo at Spices of the Manila Pen last week.
"It was like we haven't seen each other for ages. There were lots of stories shared. We were all very excited," recalled Zenith.
The four beauties shared stories about motherhood.
They are all proud moms now.
It was Melanie whom Briones has not seen for years that they told stories as if there was no more tomorrow.
Did Marquez and Briones huddle about Lito Lapid, now senator of the land who they fell in love with one after the other?
Lito sired a son with Marquez.
In the case of Zenith, the rumor that she has a love child with Lapid isn't true at all.
After the precious reunion at the hotel, Briones went to Silang, Cavite to attend the Silang Fiesta Ball with actor Tony Boy de la Rea, writer Noel Asinas and 1975 Miss Young Philippines Jean Saburit.
Miss San Pablo City is indeed hopping from one occasion to the other and how.
"Nakaka-touch naman ang imbitasyon ni Tony Boy. Nagkasama ulit kami ni (His invitation was touching I was able to reconnect with) Jean," exclaimed Azenith.
