Workers with disabilities conduct their day-to-day activities inside a dormitory made from refurbished steel containers, more commonly known as container vans, in Cainta, Rizal on Thursday, January 11, 2024.

The 24 steel containers that were put together and converted into a dormitory, available for rent at P1,995 to P2,995 per month, provide shelter to 400 tenants, mostly migrant workers and students. The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) is now in collaboration with local governments in Metro Manila to convert container vans into temporary "staging areas" for informal settlers, providing accommodation until the completion of their new homes under the Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program of the Marcos administration.
