Fortnite x Among Us collaboration is finally happening

Fortnite and Among Us launched a collaboration which will see themed items appear in Epic Game’s popular battle royale with an Among Us crewmate that reacts to your gameplay, and a Distraction Dance emote.

This crossover followed after an Imposters' gameplay mode was introduced back in August 2021, causing a bit of a controversy within the Among Us community and developers, but it seems that Epic Games and Innersloth are unbothered by it now.

While not referencing Epic Games during the peak of the controversy, Innersloth community director Victoria Tran said:

“It would’ve been really, really cool to collab.”
“Game mechanics fine, those shouldn’t be gatekept,” she added. Then expressing her disappointment that Epic Games didn’t go for “different themes or terminology.”

Players acquire the Among Us cosmetics by either purchasing the game from the Epic Games Store or buying an Among Us Stars Pack between June 9, 2022 and June 9, 2023.

"Head to the Epic Games Store on your PC between 11am ET, June 9, 2022 and 11am ET, June 9, 2023 and purchase Among Us or any Among Us Stars pack to be automatically awarded these cosmetics in Fortnite," the FAQ for this deal said.

Once the cosmetics are unlocked, the back bling puts a crewmate on your back, with all the standard 10 colours available which will be able to react to gameplay and make the impostor kill sound.

The distraction dance is Fortnite’s take on the hand-clapping, foot-stomping animation from The Henry Stickmin Collection, which is meant to draw the attention of anyone nearby.

Aside from the Fortnite collab, Innersloth was also able to reveal a new Among Us VR gameplay trailer (via Reddit) that shows off a few tasks which can be done in VR, Emergency Meetings, and more.
