TAYTAY, Rizal – For Vice Mayor Pia Cabral, there’s no more reason to hang around or be affiliated in any way with her 2022 elections standard bearer, now Mayor Allan de Leon following a series of actions which tend to isolate her.

According to highly-placed sources in the municipality, Cabral could no longer stand the oppression and insult that she has been subjected to by Mayor de Leon who “pulled off” a series of moves which tend to prevent her from discharging her mandate as presiding officer of the local council.

The decision to ‘break-away’ came following the controversial break up of showbiz personalities Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.

The source particularly hinted at an incident when de Leon’s staff reportedly swooped down the Office of the Vice Mayor and stripped Cabral of office equipment deemed essential in the OVM’s day-to-day operations.

In many instances, Cabral was also not made part of the local government activities, including the budget hearing held in an expensive hideaway in Bataan province and the groundbreaking of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development project in the town.

“Nandito lang po tayo sa gilid gilid, kung para sa Taytay, wala tayo dapat pagtalunan. Hindi man po tayo nabigyan ng imbitasyon ng ating pamahalaan para makasama sa pormal na groundbreaking ay tayo pa rin po ay handang tumulong para sa bayan ng Taytay,” reads a Facebook post of Cabral who also uploaded a photo of her with DHSUD Secretary Jerry Acuzar and Assistant Secretary Louise Ticman.

Whenever de Leon goes abroad, the mayor allegedly avoids appointing her as temporary caretaker of the municipality – which in one instance compelled the vice-mayor to make a judgment call for which she was berated.

“The issue then involved a ministerial task of announcing class suspension usually done by the mayor (de Leon) who was then out of the country,” the source told Opinyon Rizal in an exclusive interview.

When asked why she opted to part ways with her 2022 running mate, Cabral said – “Mahirap pag same girls.”
