With the launch of its flights from Cebu City to Calbayog City, Samar and vice versa, Philippine Airlines seeks to improve connectivity between Eastern and Central Visayas.
In a statement September 17, the flag carrier announced the launch of direct services between Cebu and Calbayog starting on October 26.
These flights would operate four times weekly every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
“The launch of our Cebu-Calbayog route is a milestone in our mission to empower regional gateways like Cebu,” PAL Express president Rabbi Vincent Ang said in a statement.
The Tan-led carrier, he said, is investing in Cebu as a strategic hub to help drive tourism and economic growth across the region.
"These enhancements reflect PAL’s commitment to boosting connectivity and positioning Cebu as a true gateway to the Visayas, Mindanao, and beyond," the airline said in its news release.
Through its regional subsidiary PAL Express, Philippine Airlines also operates flights from Cebu to Tacloban City, Borongan City in Eastern Samar, and Catarman in Northern Samar and vice versa.
