Flights affected by Kanlaon eruption

The country's aviation regulator announced on Tuesday, June 4, that flights arriving and departing from Bacolod-Silay Airport were canceled due to a phreatic explosion of Kanlaon Volcano the previous day.

Airline station managers have informed the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) that "afternoon flights may resume, depending on the situation/update on Mt. Kanlaon's volcanic activity."

The airlines have also informed their passengers about the status of their flights.

AirAsia Philippines has canceled six flights from Manila, Cebu, and Iloilo to Bacolod, while eight flights were reportedly delayed.

Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) has grounded flights from Manila, Davao, Cebu, General Santos, and Iloilo to Bacolod, while 10 CebGo flights from Cebu-Bacolod-Cebu, Cebu-Ozamis-Cebu, Cebu-Tacloban-Cebu, and Cebu-Pagadian-Cebu were also canceled.

PAL Express, on the other hand, has cancelled flights on the following routes: Manila-Cebu-Manila, Manila-Iloilo-Manila, Manila-Cebu, Manila-Bacolod-Manila, Cebu-Iloilo-Cebu, and Cebu-Bacolod-Cebu.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) travel advisory said that it canceled seven flights from its Manila hub, and four flights from its Cebu hub.

Meanwhile, boutique airline AirSwift has cancelled its flights from Cebu to El Nido in Palawan.
