The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) is encouraging young individuals to share their personal perspectives on successful experiences related to the execution of the agrarian reform program in the nation through a short film.
At the end of last year, DAR introduced “PelikulAgraryo 2025,” a short film festival that provides an exciting platform for tertiary-level students from across the country to express their enthusiasm for filmmaking and support the promotion of success stories from agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs), agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (ARBOs), and DAR projects.
The narratives should align with this year’s PelikulAgraryo theme, “Pag-ani sa mga Pangarap: Mga Kwento ng Pag-asa at Tagumpay sa Agraryo (Harvest of Dreams: Agrarian Stories of Hope and Success).”
There are two competition categories: ARB and ARBO. All stories must draw from actual experiences of ARBs or ARBOs.
The contest is open to students enrolled in programs related to communication and media.
It will consist of regional elimination rounds, leading up to a national finals event that will culminate in an awarding ceremony on April 18 this year in Metro Manila.
Regional winners will receive ₱30,000 for the top film in each category, ₱15,000 for the second-best film, and ₱10,000 for the third-best film. Additionally, winners for best director, best actor, best actress, best cinematography, best editing, and best screenplay will each receive ₱10,000.
The winners for the best film in both categories will represent their region and have the opportunity to compete at the national level for the ₱60,000 grand prize for best film and other available awards.
The deadline for submitting regional entries is February 28 this year.
In Eastern Visayas, interested parties can visit the DAR office in their locality for further details.
