A fact-finding committee will be assembled by the PSC following the incident involving JRU player John Amores and CSB Blazers in the NCAA.

The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) has finally spoken about the recent mellee at the National Collegiate Atheletic Association through a resolution to open an investigation on the scuffle involving Jose Rizal University's John Amores and some College of St. Benilde players on November 11.

The PSC, headed by Chairman Noli Eala and the sole government body on amateur sports per provisions of Republic Act 6847, issued the resolution that will form a fact-finding committee that will determine the “appropriate actions to be taken by the Commission on all those who may have been involved in the incident,” said ABS-CBN.

According to PhilStar, Section 11 of RA 6847 gives PSC the “power to perform all acts and things necessary for or in connection with the performance of its functions including the imposition of sanctions upon any national sports association, institution, association, body, entity, team, athlete and sports official for violation of its policies, rules and regulations.”

Eala stressed that violence has no place in sports and will personally lead the inquiry with the assistance of PSC executive director Atty. Guillermo Iroy, Jr., deputy executive directors Merely Ibay and Christine Abellana, PSC legal affairs and accounting chiefs, Atty. Michelle Labajanan and Erik Mayores.

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) has also expressed its concerns regarding the incident saying it is strongly against the violence in sports or in any setting and that the NCAA should “proactively take the appropriate steps to move the league forward in a professional manner,” reported Rappler.

Meanwhile, Amores is now facing two complaints against him after Jimboy Pasturan and Taine Davis from CSB have filed a physical injury complaints against him before the San Juan Prosecutor's Office, days after the University of the Philippines (UP) has filed a criminal charge due to a preseason assault Maroons recruit Mark Belmonte.
