The MMDA and the MMC passed the resolution amid growing concerns about the alleged "reckless" behavior of some e-bike owners.
At a press conference in Pasig City Wednesday, February 28, Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) acting chairman Atty. Don Artes (center), Metro Manila Council President San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora (right) and Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval (left) confirm the rollout of a resolution of the MMC prohibiting electronic bikes and tricycles from passing through national roads in Metro Manila. Aside from imposing a P2,500 fine on violators, the MMC will now also require e-bike and e-trike drivers to have a valid driver's license.
