Film on Pakil, its personal drama of a returning resident goes to 2025 Cannes

One of the Filipino films that the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) sent and presented at the recently concluded prestigious world film event 78th Cannes International Film Festival in France represented by Jose Javier Reyes, FDCP Chairman was the movie "Paquil" directed by Lemuel C. Lorca.

"Paquil," a story of a woman native of Pakil, Laguna who goes back to her roots after a long period of absence only to be haunted by her past and confronted by the realities of the present.

"Paquil" was brought by Joey Reyes to The Riviera as part of the Philippine exhibition of materials alongside the Marche du Film of the 2025 Cannes.

It was presented at the marketing and advertising pitch from the Philippines-Singapore pavilion in the Le Croisette of European Hollywood.

"Paquil" stars Beauty Gonzalez, Yayo Aguila and JM de Guzman.

It was just exclusive to the Philippines-Singapore pavilion.
