Actress Kim Chiu amused Filipinos with her lighthearted reaction at being featured in a South Korean news report.

The "Linlang" actress reposted a social media post from iMBC on September 25, which included her image alongside Korean stars.

“[‘Di ko] naintindihan pero (heart emojis),” Kim captioned her X (formerly Twitter) post, using emojis to express her excitement.

The post has since garnered 4,400 likes, 515 reposts, and over 140 replies, with many Filipinos sharing in her amusement.

“Hahaha, basta ‘yun na ‘yun,” one user commented, while another fan wrote, “Pero as a fan, I’m so very proud of you.”

Actor-singer Darren Espanto playfully reminded Kim of the platform’s translate feature, replying, “Kaya may translate button dito sa Twitter, Bestie,” a response that received over 160 likes.

The translated post reads, "Global Stars Gather in One Place: Park Chan-wook, Song Kang-ho, Kim Hye-yoon, and others at the 19th Seoul Drama Awards Purple Carpet."

Kim was recognized at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2024 for her portrayal of Juliana Alcantara-Lualhati in the ABS-CBN drama series “Linlang,” where she played the role of a cheating wife.

This performance marked a departure from her previous teenybopper roles, showcasing her versatility as an actress.

Kim was hailed as Most Outstanding Asian Star, joining other notable Asian actors such as Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon for Korea, Ochi Rosdiana for Indonesia, Siti Saleha for Malaysia, Win Metawin for Thailand, and Desmond Tan for Singapore.

Fellow Filipino nominees at the prestigious awards included Paulo Avelino, Nadine Lustre, Bea Alonzo, Rhian Ramos, Krissha Viaje, Jerome Ponce, Dingdong Dantes, Jane Oineza, Dennis Trillo, Andrea Torres, Arjo Atayde, Bodjie Pascua, and Sid Lucero.

Kim’s victory followed online voting through the IdolChamp App, making her the latest Filipino actress to win the award, after Kathryn Bernardo's win in 2023.

Reports also revealed that a digital billboard featuring Kim's "Linlang" character was spotted in South Korea, adding to her international recognition.
