It's Happy Hearts season once again and various Valentine shows are slated to commemorate not only the relevance and influence of St. Valentine in pursuit of pure and selfless love but to look into the eros, sexual attractions, fatal and otherwise and the endearing platonic relationships.

Those are expressions of love which are being interpreted if not contextualized by various artists.

One of the most prolific singers to expound on love in many forms of music is Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez.

On February 14 and 22 and February 15 and 21, 2025, Regine will explore love and other romances in her series of Valentine concerts billed a "Reset" at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Makati City.

Velasquez will be directed on stage by Paolo Valenciano while Raul Mitra will be the musical director.

Regine as an artist has hurdled a not so few challenges in her life which she passed with flying colors and made her a stronger person.

It was love--for family and other people in her sphere--that made her withstand all adversities in life.

I remember the controversy we got into when one Remy Calusin Zacarias of Infanta, Quezon opened up her feelings and thoughts about her missing daughter, Norma Zacarias, nicknamed Matot, who went awry because of their dysfunctional family.

According to Aling (a term of endearment to an older woman) Remy, when she tuned in to "Ang Bagong Kampeon" TV show hosted by Pilita Corrales and Bert "Tawa" Marcelo and saw a certain contestant named Chona Velasquez, she felt an affinity with the girl.

"Ang nasabi ko na lang sa sarili ko, parang si Matot 'yon (I told myself she looked like my missing daughter)," said Aling Remy.

It was mother's instinct that got into her.

That started the tall tale that Regine Velasquez was Norma Zacarias that until now has remained a mystery.

Despite all these, Ma. Regina Ansong Velasquez has maintained her loving virtue for filial harmony.

We will let it be the way it is no matter how puzzling the controversy is.
