By now, "Extraction 2" has purportedly brought in millions of dollars to the pockets of its stakeholders.
Yet, many who have watched the film on Netflix might not be familiar with its editor, for Chris Hemsworth as commando Tyler Rake and the thriller's gripping, fast-paced drama are the mise-en-scenes that linger.
We may not be privy to the suspenser's behind-the-scenes (BTS) especially the pro league where Hemsworth and the filmmakers belongs but as luck would have it, one of its editors, Alex Rodriguez was in town not just to talk about editing at the recently concluded FEST Film Lab of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) but to share, generally, some experiences about his craft for which this writer has been one of the beneficiaries.
According to Alex, he was always around during the filming of the cliff-hanger in the Czech Republic and Austria, particularly in Prague and Vienna.
As a rule, Rodriguez was generous about his familiarity with Hemsworth, especially the professionalism of the Hollywood actor.
As Alex worked closely with the whole production, he dutifully previewed all the rushes that he must string together while the lead star would also, time and again, watch the rushes.
"He would enter with us to the preview room," informed Rodriguez, referring to Hemsworth.
"He would watch what had been shot," he added.
The editor said that the actor was very pleasant to work with.
He added, in more ways than one, that Hemsworth was very cooperative not only as an actor but as a person as well.
