ILOILO CITY — In a move aimed at enhancing safety and orderliness across the city, four new police stations are set to be activated on July 2nd. Strategically positioned in key districts, these stations signify a significant step forward for local law enforcement and community security.

Mayor Jerry P. Treñas has warmly welcomed this development, emphasizing its potential to foster a more peaceful environment for all Ilonggos. This initiative reflects a shared commitment between the Iloilo City Government and the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) to meet the increasing demands of a growing population and economy.

"With the rapid expansion of our city, it's crucial to bolster our public services, especially in law enforcement and emergency response," Mayor Treñas affirmed. The establishment of ICARE Centers, including these new police stations, aims to bring essential services closer to the community, ensuring faster and more efficient emergency responses.

Each new station has been strategically located to optimize coverage and responsiveness. Police Station 7, located at the ICARE Center in Barangay Tanza Esperanza, City Proper, will oversee 24 barangays with a population of 26,835. Similarly, Police Station 8 in Barangay Bo. Obrero, Lapuz district, and Police Station 9 in Barangay M.H. Del Pilar, Jaro district, are poised to serve 12 and 29 barangays respectively, enhancing localized law enforcement.

Police Station 10, initially housed at Gaisano Iloilo City Center in Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao, will cater to seven barangays with plans for a permanent move to the ICARE Center Megaworld in Barangay Airport upon completion.

Col. Joeresty Coronica, ICPO director, expressed gratitude for the support from the Philippine National Police and local government, highlighting the collective effort behind this milestone. For him, the activation of these stations marks a long-awaited realization and a pivotal moment in advancing community safety.

As Iloilo City prepares to inaugurate these stations, residents can look forward to heightened security measures and more responsive law enforcement services.

With these additions, the city is poised to continue its trajectory as a safer, more livable urban center for all its residents.
