Enchanted Kingdom, the Philippines’ first world-class theme park, is once again proving that its mission to provide joy and learning for every Filipino child goes beyond its confines.
Recently, officials of EK joined officials of the Department of Education (DepEd) and the local government of Santa Rosa City, Laguna, its home turf, in preparation for the opening of classes last June 8.
EK officials recently turned over an upgraded interactive classroom and gulayan sa paaralan project at Sinalhan Elementary School.
The initiative aims to inspire students to excel in their studies while instilling valuable life lessons among young learners.
For the DepEd Schools Division of Santa Rosa, the efforts of private sector partners go beyond corporate responsibility and play a significant role in ensuring that learners receive quality education.
Enchanted Kingdom, now celebrating its 31st year of operations in Santa Rosa City, has been implementing its corporate social responsibility initiative, the Adopt-a-School Program, since 2014.
Through the program, the company has helped refurbish classrooms and improve school facilities in various communities.
Enchanted Kingdom President and Chairman Mario Mamon said the company aims to teach children the importance of creative arts and sustainability.
He emphasized that the theme park’s mission extends beyond providing rides and attractions, as it also promotes education and environmental protection initiatives.
By introducing interactive learning spaces and school gardens, the initiative tackles two critical fronts: cognitive engagement and environmental literacy, or what Mamon calls saribuhay or biodiversity.
This sparks creativity, breaks the monotony of traditional learning, and provides hands-on lessons in agriculture and nutrition.
