In the previous stories I wrote about Region 8’s political candidates in the 2025 midterm elections, especially their multimedia affiliations, there are still additional references of their connections with media men.
For example, King of Talk Boy Abunda isn't the only connection of losing Eastern Samar Congressional District aspirant Maria Fe Abunda.
There are other affinities of showbiz people however geopolitical like popular entertainment journalist Aster Amoyo who is a native of Borongan, a direct connection of Maria Fe in terms of township citizenry as in kababayan which speaks volumes in a relationship.
Entertainment editor Art Tapalla is directly linked with the Abunda lady as a resident as well of Hilabaan Island in Dolores town, Eastern Samar.
As a Hilabaanenze, Art is directly proportional and beneficiary to the laws crafted, created, authored and passed by Abunda during her stint in Congress.
And now, Sheen Gonzales, from Giuan town as the congressman-elect, has a connection to Nelia Lim, a popular talent manager and record producer of the late Willie Nepomuceno, the versatile actor, comedian and impersonator.
Nelia used to be the handler in the singing and recording careers of Marco Sison and Nonoy Zuniga and the acting berth of Juan Rodrigo.
The friendship between Nelia and the Gonzaleses goes a long way, indeed.
Lim has been a friend of every member of Sheen's family.
It was Nelia who told me that she was assigned by the Gonzaleses to do a coffee table book on the beauty spots of Eastern Samar especially when a Gonzales was the sitting mayor of Giuan.
This might be a known fact already that Sheen is a son-in-law of Congressman Marcelino Libanan but there is a larger connection of the showbiz mold to the other Libanan family members.
Sheen, therefore, is a belas or sibling-in-law of the 2015 Asia's Got Talent second runner-up Gerphil Flores who is married to Brad Libanan, a scion of the 4Ps party-list rep.
How's that for a comprehensive Filipino ties and kinship and interconnectivity and therefore, they are all string together to affect each with every movement they think and decide in their respective fields that eventually, affect or effect, other people, consciously or not.
