Filipina tennis star Alex Eala is off to a strong start at the Madrid Open after beating Russian veteran Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in straight sets.
Eala, currently world No. 44, secured a solid 6-3, 6-3 win in just over an hour and a half, marking her third straight year reaching the second round in Madrid.
After the match, Eala was so proud to come out on top against such an experienced player.
Next up? A tougher challenge against 19th seed Elise Mertens from Belgium.
