The Department of Science and Technology will once again commence its National Youth Science, Technology, and Innovation Festival (NYSTIF) for the second time on September 18 to 21, 2024 in the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.
After its successful launch last year, the festival aims to encourage more youth in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) under the theme, “STEM VIBE: Engaging the Youth in Providing Solutions and Opening Opportunities.”
This festival is designed to further understand the importance and awareness of these youth about Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) using the hands-on experience under STEM.
Students will be able to experience exhibits, projects, competitions, and more interactive activities designed to inspire Filipino youth to continue being part of this community.
“We’re inviting all our youth to join us in this celebration. It will be a fun, exciting, and engaging festival of various S&T exhibits, projects, competitions, and all other activities where the youth can participate,” DOST Undersecretary of Scientific and Technical Services Maridon Sahagun said in an interview with the DOST-Science and Technology Information Institute (STII).
Some of the topics that will be discussed this year in the upcoming NYSTIF will be the different points of matter in terms of science and technology such as blockchain technology, science communication, metrology, textile technology, data analytics, food and nutrition, 3D printing, and the science and art of leaves.
The festival will serve as a representation of DOST as a successful department as well as its other agencies, to give fort to the Filipino youth to discover and assess the latest innovations and progress in Science and Technology.
