The increase in tourists from December to the summer months of March to May is expected to bring in more dollars. Tourism will increase once COVID restrictions are eased.
Rep. Edwin Gardiola said due to rising overseas Filipino remittances and declining high demand for dollars, the local supply of dollars is anticipated to rise seasonally from November to February.
Manufacturers and retailers have already increased their inventories in preparation for greater consumer demand in the fourth quarter and the first quarter of the upcoming year.
OFWs can still cash in on relatively high exchange of dollars for pesos. OFWs who sent home their dollar earnings in the past weeks would have reaped significant gains, but OFWs and their dependents can still gain if the peso stays at ₱57 territory.
