DLSU Green Archers beats UE Red Warriors in an overtime.

De La Salle Green Archers escaped a near loss against the winless UE Red Warriors, 85-82 OT, today at the Mall of Asia.

UE, which led by as much as 15 (25-10) in the first quarter, managed to string up four quick points in the last 12.5 seconds before Justine Baltazar put the game beyond doubt with two charities.

With the game tied at 78-78 and only 1:12 left in overtime, Mark Nonoy scored five unanswered points to grant La Salle a priceless 83-78 cushion over UE.

It was Justine Baltazar and Michael Phillips who led the charge for the green warriors. DLSU’s twin towers dominated the rebounding department eclipsing the whole UE squad’s 41 rebound with the two combining for 48.

Baltazar displayed his presence inside the paint as he finished with 14 points and 22 rebounds, while Phillips with a mind boggling stat of 12 points and 26 boards. This is the most rebounds in the UAAP since Ange Kouame set the record in 2018 with 28 rebounds.

Nonoy got 11 points, four assists, three steals, and three rebounds while Schonny Winston led La Salle in scoring with 18 points and three rebounds and Kurt Lojera adding with 17 markers.

Green Archers maintained their solo spot at third with a 7-3 record and blew the winless UE out for Final Four contention.

Harvey Pagsanjan top scored the Red Warriors with 23 points and 10 rebounds as Kyle Paranada shot three treys for his 13 points, three boards, three dimes, and three steals as they enjoyed a 17-point lead in the first half and even held a 48-57 lead entering the final frame.
