Members of various militant groups hold protest rally in front of the Senate on Monday, 31 January 2022.
The demonstrators are calling on the senators to immediately nullify the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement which the country has entered into and took effect on January 1 this year, which they claim will lead to the death of local industries and massive job losses. The RCEP bloc comprises the 10 ASEAN states, Australia, People's Republic of China (PRC), Japan, Republic of Korea (ROK), and New Zealand.
