Bohol-Panglao International Airport (BPIA) has welcomed the arrival of Air Seoul, a South Korean low-cost carrier and a subsidiary of Asiana Airlines, as it commenced operations on Panglao Island, Bohol Wednesday, July 17.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said Wednesday night's inaugural flight at BPIA, with 190 passengers on board, received a water cannon salute from the airport.

Incheon-based Air Seoul is currently operating daily flights to BPIA, thereby enhancing the array of air travel options available for passengers traveling between Incheon and Bohol.

Jin Air, a low-cost airline, is also scheduled to commence commercial flights to Bohol, one of the country's fastest-growing tourism destinations.

CAAP said BPIA facilitates 15 domestic and 10 international flights daily.

The CAAP stated that the daily Air Seoul flight not only connects Bohol to a busy Asian hub but also marks a positive outlook for the tourism industry in the region.

The BPIA, which opened on November 28, 2018, began offering international flights in November 2019.

Among Bohol's top attractions are white-sand beaches in Panglao, the Chocolate Hills Adventure Park, the Loboc River Cruise, Bilar Man-Made Forest, scenic Alicia Panoramic Park and opportunities for dolphin and whale watching.
