Just last week, character actor Dindo Arroyo was at the stage of Plaza Rizal in the heart of Binan City.
He was with a group of private citizens, professionals, businessmen and women and ordinary residents of the city to offer fun and entertainment as well as give away gift items and relief goods especially to the marginalized sectors and victims of Typhoon Carina's wrath.
Dindo made himself visible to his fellow Binan people to remind them that he is around anytime to help those in need.
As a matter of fact, during my video interview with him, he admitted that he is in the running for a city council seat.
He said that he is not yet an official party mate of the flagship of the opposition until he has registered his Certificate of Candidacy (CoC) with the Comelec which will commence in October of this year.
Can he sustain exhaustive campaign trails with his body that was just pronounced as cancer-free?
"Oo naman (Of course]," he exclaimed.
"I am well-fit," Dindo affirmed during our interview with him in the set of Water Plus Productions' "Idol: The April Boy Regino Story" in Barangay Bukal, Pansol, Calamba, Laguna.
He is now health conscious primarily because of the ordeal he experienced when he had cancer.
"Eating fruits and vegetables keeps me fit," shared Arroyo who has been living in Binan for years and considers the city his roots.
"Kayang-kaya natin ang laban (We hurdle the fight)," he said.
At the moment, he is with the Yatco group.
