Catbalogan City, Samar — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 8 held its prestigious 2024 DAYAW Awards on December 19 at the People's Center and Library, Tacloban City, celebrating exemplary public service and local governance. The event emphasized the agency’s commitment to its core values of Matino, Mahusay, and Maaasahan, while recognizing exceptional contributions of its employees and sub-regional offices.
DILG Samar emerged as one of the top honorees during the event, winning multiple prestigious awards. Information Officer I Kenneth P. Gacutan was recognized as the Best Performing Sub-Regional Office Non-LGOO Personnel, while LGOO V John Clifford B. Rado was named Best Performing Sub-Regional Focal Officer.
Additionally, LGOO VI Ma. Vanessa C. Borja received the award for Best Performing SRO/HUC Program Manager. These accolades underscore DILG Samar’s outstanding performance and its pivotal role in advancing local governance in the region.
The event also paid tribute to retired employees who have dedicated years of service to the government, acknowledging their significant contributions to the agency's mission of public service excellence.
The DAYAW Awards highlighted the collective progress of DILG Region 8 in improving governance across Eastern Visayas. Regional Director Arnel M.
