President Duterte has visited Negros Island to facilitate relief and recovery efforts in typhoon -affected communities.

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte today visited Odette-ravaged Negros even as he ordered to hasten relief and recovery efforts in the island.

Digong who wasaccompanied by Senator Christopher “Bong” Go stressed the importance of an effective disaster response and recovery efforts during his visit.

Digong also held a meeting with local officials.

Just like what he did in Southern Leyte and Surigao Del Norte last Saturday, and in Cebu and Bohol, President Duterte again led the aerial inspection and situation briefing in Kabankalan City with local officials of Negros Oriental and Negros Occidental.

During the briefing, Digong assured that adequate attention and assistance will be given to all areas severely affected by the typhoon.

He added the deployment of equipment, aid, and government personnel willcontinue even during Christmas and New Year

It will be recalled that Kabankalan City was among the areas hardest hit by super typhoon Odette in Negros Occidental where many parts of the city were submerged in flood waters.

Heavy rains disrupted the lives of thousands of residents, forced the evacuation of more than 8,000 individuals and left nine dead on Sunday, Dec. 19th.
