With the opening of Sariaya Bypass Road, President Duterte is optimistic that Quezon will be on its way to full progress and economic development which he hope could subsequently address insurgency in the province.
SARIAYA, Quezon- PRESIDENT Rodrigo Roa Duterte has spearheaded the unveiling of the Sariaya Bypass Road project marker at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena City, Quezon on Thursday (October 21).
The Sariaya Bypass Road is one of the flagship projects of the Duterte administration's 'Build, Build, Build' Program.
It stretches for 7.42 kilometers, starting from the Manila South Road Daang Maharlika to the Quezon Eco-Tourism Road.
It will serve 15,000 motorists and commuters daily in the Southern Tagalog provinces.
Moreover, the Sariaya Bypass Road will improve transportation efficiency, road safety and expand business prospects throughout Quezon Province.
The bypass route improved traffic flow by 40% and cut travel time from Sariaya to Lucena City by 30 minutes.
In his speech, Pres. Duterte commended the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) noting that the project affirms his government’s commitment to improving the lives of the people.

Insurgency concerns
While in Quezon, President Duterte also presided over the joint meeting of the National Task Force - Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-RTF ELCAC).
One of the topics tackled was the plan to expedite development in insurgency-cleared areas of Region IV-A in which each barangay would receive P20 million to fund various socio-economic development activities.
A copy of Republic Act (RA) No. 11524, the Coconut Farmers and Industry Trust Fund Act, was handed over to President Duterte during the program.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development meanwhile provided food packs to the former rebels during the same meeting held at Quezon Convention Center.
