Diesel prices are expected to decline this week while gasoline and kerosene would rise.
Diesel prices are expected to continue falling this week, while gasoline prices may rise for the second week in a row.
Unioil said in its price forecast that fuel prices have mixed movement this week. It anticipates diesel prices to decline by P0.35 to P0.45 per liter while gasoline would increase between P0.45 and P0.70 per liter, Philippine Star reported.
Director Rino Abad of the Department of Energy (DoE) Oil Industry Management Bureau also sees the same trend, projecting that diesel prices will fall by P0.20 to P0.30 per liter and gasoline prices will fall by P0.70 to P0.80 per liter.
He added that kerosene prices could also rise by P1.30 to P1.50 per liter.
Last Tuesday, gasoline prices increased by P1.40 per liter, while diesel and kerosene prices decreased by P0.50 and P0.35 per liter, respectively.
Based on data from DoE, this resulted in a net increase of P17.25 per liter for gasoline, P36.30 for diesel, and P28.60 for kerosene year to date.
