The Davao International Airport has beefed up security measures due to security concerns.

The operator of the Davao International Airport (DIA) has tightened its security after a vlogger managed to evade the airport's security.

Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Monday said it had heightened security at the airport after a 21-year-old female vlogger from Zamboanga City on Oct. 15, 2022 slipped past security and restricted areas using a fake ID and boarding pass.

"We take such breaches in airport security very seriously and have taken immediate action to ensure that this does not happen again," the CAAP said in a statement.

After authorities(CAAP-DIA and PNP-Aviation Security Group) took custody of the vlogger and filed charges, Davao airport security tightened security within the premises.

"The case is still ongoing and we will continue to work with the authorities to ensure a proper conclusion to the issue," CAAP said.

TheCAAP-DIA released an airport order (No. 2022-55) on October 11, 2022, reminding travelers upon enteringthe pre-departure area to prepare the following valid requirements: DIA access pass, boarding pass, and temporary security access pass.

"We would like to ensure the public that the airport has beefed up its security measures to guarantee the safety and security of all passengers and airport personnel. The CAAP will continue to work with the airport management and law enforcement agencies to ensure that our airports remain safe and secure for everyone," CAAP said.
