The Salvadors are mourning. One of the biggest clans in showbiz, the death of one of its members is a blow to the whole family and rightly so for actresses Deborah Sun and Jobelle Salvador for the demise of their brother James Leory Salvador

Although Deborah, also known in the biz as Gigi, and Jobelle are half-sisters, they imbibe the filial bond of direct siblings.

In her Facebook wall, Jobelle who is US-based but continues to get involved in showbiz affairs, wrote this obit: “I am writing this message with profound sorrow. Our beloved brother James, tragically passed away at 1:08 am. His brave battle against colon cancer, enduring its agonizing challenges, ultimately breathed his last in the presence of his family. I am humbly asking everyone to please say a prayer for my brother James’ soul and his transition into eternal life.”

Deborah replaced her usual social media profile of a smiling figure with a lighted candle glimmering in the dark to suggest mourning with the caption “Forever in our hearts” superimposed on the image.

Before the death of James, Gigi had figured in a mishap on the set of the ABS-CBN’s action caper “Batang Quiapo” when she was accidentally dragged to the ground by a fellow actor in an intense chase scene.

Although conscious when she fell, Deborah had to be taken to the De Los Santos Medical Center for immediate treatment on her fractured collar bones.

According to veteran entertainment news hen Alice Vergara, Gigi was suffering from excruciating pain when she was brought to the hospital.

“Grabe ang nangyari kay Deborah pero hindi naman sinasadya ng kanyang kaeksena (She suffered gravely but it wasn’t on purpose),” informed Alice.

Gigi stayed in the hospital for weeks to recuperate but her medical bills were taken care of by Coco Martin and the production.

Meanwhile, Jobelle and Deborah are in touch especially now that their bro is dead.

James was one of the sons of the late director Leroy Salvador who was brother to Phillip Salvador, Ramon Salvador and the late Alona Alegre, Ross Rival (Jon Hernandez and Maja Salvador’s dad), Lou Salvador, Jr., Mina Aragon, among others.

He was 67.
